No, his name’s not “Buddy”, but that’s what Dad called him! What began as one little request from “Buddy”, turned into a full-family storytelling adventure!
It started with a son…
His name isn’t “Buddy”, but that’s what Dad called both sons. When the middle child was just two years old, he had a simple request: “Can I watch a reading of my favorite book?”
Now, we know screen time isn’t every parent’s dream… but this was about books! Surely a little reading video couldn’t be too bad, right? We searched YouTube for something magical, but our little buddy wasn’t very interested…
Then dad was inspired…
So Dad, with a flair for design and drama, decided to create his own.
Just like their bedtime readings, he voiced the storybook characters with enthusiasm (but maybe a touch of over-the-top), layered in sound effects, and added just enough visual flair to help little eyes follow along. A musical score helped set the mood and before long, our toddler was hooked.
But here’s where it gets even better…
And now the whole family joins in…
The smiles on the kids’ faces? Totally worth the late-night editing! From classic fables to stories read in school, our playlist is lovingly curated based on what our young readers are into.
Now the two “Buddy” sons step in to voice characters alongside Mom (who always nails the “mother” roles). And even the youngest will occasionally squeaks out a sound effect or two. What started as one bedtime request has turned into a full-on family production!
